The kids got all excited as we walked through the customs gate to wait until we were able to board the plane. We had an hour to wait before boarding and the kids entertained themselves with the books and games they had brought with them. Finally the call for boarding arrived and a qeue quickly developed, which the kids did not mind lining up for.
As we went through the last checkpoint and down the gangway the kids were jumping up and down in excitement.
It was not long after being seated that the plane started to get ready for takeoff. Janelle sat with Sinead and Kieran in a row of 3, Conor and I sat directly behind, in a row of 2. All the kids were happy to have their own TV screen which they could control with a personal remote that also turned into a game controller(what more could they ask for?)
All was well during the climb up, as we watched La Perouse and Kurnell pass by, during this time we started to level out and the seat belt sign disappeared. Sinead decided to change seats and give Kieran the window and that is where we all remained until we landed in LA. During the flight we watched some movies, played games and Kieran enjoyed watching the flight progress on his screen, letting us all know we were going pass Hawaii at 1120 km per hour and it was -53 Celsius outside. Finally we all managed to sleep, waking about 3 hrs before we landed and just before breakfast.
Travelling with children has some privileges, as we were able to pass through the US citizens lane at immigration, only taking about 20 minutes to get through. Then we proceeded to get our luggage and were passed straight out the gates to await our shuttle to the hotel. Janelle and I congratulated the kids on how well they behaved during the trip, not one, are we there yet?
