Magic Kingdom

Today was our first day at one of the theme parks in Disneyworld. Our day started at 9.00am and we didn’t return until 7.00pm tonight. We went on so many rides and we still didn’t get to see everything. It is exactly what you see on TV but better. The street parade in the afternoon was fantastic and all the characters were amazing. See some of our photo’s. We all had a ride that we wanted to go on – Kieran’s was “Dumbo” the flying elephant, Sinead’s was the “Tea Cups” in Alice in Wonderland, Conor’s was the “Bare Rabbit Splash” (we had a Disney photo done of this one – it’s hilarious), Mick’s was any roller coaster spinning ride (yuk I feel liking puking) and me I didn’t care as long as we all had fun. We had lunch today at the “Lady and the Tramp” restaurant from the movie. It was beautiful. We all bought a Disney hat today with Mickey Mouse on it – what tourists we have become. The night ended with a fireworks display over Cinderella’s castle and as you can imagine there was lots of oohs and aaghs going on from not only the children. We can’t get over how disgusting the coffee tastes here. I have ordered only one cappuccino the whole time since we have been here and I won’t order another until I return home to sunny St Peters. Now the food sizing – check out the size of the pizza that we ordered. This is a regular size. If you ask for a small drink it is equivalent to our large size at MacDonald’s. Your coffee (wonderful instant) is served in this as well as you are given long life milk to add to it (yuk, yuk, yuk) For those who know me, I enjoy my coffee……….We only ever order snack sizes for our meals as the main size servings are just unbelievable. Like the white cockatoo servings but bigger. This size is given to you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I sometimes go and order from the kids menu as it is the right size portion.
Travelling around Disney World is made so easy, buses pick you up from your hotel and take you to what ever park you like and they run about every 15mins. There are 4 theme parks; Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot Centre and 2 water parks; Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. The are areas also such as Downtown Disney which is a shopping metropolis and includes Pleasure Island for nightlife. The area it covers is unbelievable, can take us ½hr by bus to reach some areas. More later when we go to Animal Kingdom.
