Blizzard Beach

8 December
Today we had a bit of a sleep in, as Blizzard Beach does not open until 10am. We arrived at the gates 5 mins after opening time. Blizzard Beach is a water park for all levels, which includes a huge wave pool and various slides. We started off in the green slope area that has rather sedate slides and pool playing areas. Green slopes then had a family raft ride called Teamboat springs which we were all able to go on and in the same raft. The park has channel ride called Cross Country Creek that encircles the park, where you can lie back in a donut and let the current take you to a section of the park you would like to get off. The kids really enjoyed the flying fox in one pool where you let go as you came to a stop at the end which flung you in the water. Conor particularly liked this as he did a backflip on his first go.
The kids and us had hours of fun as we played on the different rides and slides. Never did venture onto the ride of the park called Summitt Plummet which involved a 120 foot vertical free-falling body slide. Maybe if we return before we leave on Wednesday 12 Dec.
Left the park at about 3pm as we were going to Epcot Centre for dinner at The 9 Dragons Chinese Restaurant in the World Showcase. The world showcase is presentations by 12 countries in theme like settings. .After dinner we stayed for a fireworks display called Illuminations: Reflections of the Earth at 9.30pm. The World Showcase Display surrounds a lake and that is where the fireworks took place. Great show of fireworks too!
