MGM Studios

After our on again off again shuttle launch, we didn’t get to MGM studios until about 10.00am. Normally we are in the parks at about 8.30am. MGM was great. It reminded me a lot of our Movie World up in QLD. The stunt show that we saw on the day was for an upcoming James Bond film (I love watching all those 007 movies). We also managed to take a back lot tour and saw some props that they used in movies like Indiana Jones, Pearl Harbour, Con Air and other action packed movies. One of the highlights for me, was to get a glimpse of some upcoming movies that are due out here in America in the next couple of weeks but won’t be out in OZ until mid 2008. They were the sequal to Narnia, the Lion Witch & the Wardrobe and National Treasure with Nicolas Cage. There were a few mad rides here at MGM – in particular the Hollywood Tower of Terror. It apparently is a replica lift within a building and you drop 13 floors in a matter of second. Needless to say I didn’t go on the ride. I hate anything like that. The other ride was the Aero Smith (yes the smash head rock band) Roller Coaster. Again it turns upside down and you go from zero to 60 within second. We have photos which you can view. Just a reminder if you are wanting to view the photos of our trip, double click on the first picture of each segment that we are writing about. All other photos are behind. After MGM we went to Epcot for dinner at the World Showcase area. Every night we are able to see fireworks at a different theme park. Unfortunately our camera does not take very good shoots of this but there is lots of OOHS and AAGHS going on. You will have to wait to see video footage when we return, or when we work out how to down load videos online.
